Fees and charges : Ambulance fees are based on a call out charge plus a per kilometre charge. Kilometres are based on the round trip between the ambulance station, pick up address, destination and return to the ambulance station.
Charges : Residents of NSW are only charged 51% of the actual cost of service as the NSW Government provides a 49% subsidy. From 1 July 2023, NSW residents requiring road, fixed wing aircraft or helicopter or a combination of these – from the scene of an accident, illness or injury to a public hospital or other destination nominated by NSW Ambulance – will be charged a call-out fee of $428, plus an additional charge of $3.87 per kilometer or part thereof.
