Eventing

We are excited to announce that work is underway with the construction of our eventing course. Whilst we wait for x-country competition course to be built, we conduct our very popular x-country derby days using mobile fences.

X-Country Derby Days

Our X-Country Derby Days are a whole lot of fun.

The Format has changed and the course is now only over x-country fences, with course heights of 45,60,80 & 95cm.
From the starting box, head gallop out into the field (or at a more comfortable speed if the rider chooses) to complete the course of x-country jumps to the optimum time. The course covers approximately 1200m of varying terrain.

Berry Riding Club has a good range of mobile x/country jumps including logs, roll tops, a gate, an apex, a church, log rolls, hay feeder, pheasant feeder just to name a few. Some are small for beginners, some trickier, and some higher for those who are more confident. We are able to provide a variety of courses.

  • Riders have a choice of 4 competition heights:  1) 30-45cm,   2) 45-60cm,  3) 60-75cm  or  4) 75-90cm and can ride the same height twice. Some jumps will be at the highest height in each competition class.
  • At our X-Country Derby Days ribbons are awarded to 5th place.
  • All riders must wear a back protector and be either a member of BRC or the EA
  • Enter our X-Country Derby Days via Nominate.

We love to receive feedback with suggestions on how to continue providing riding fun and good experiences.

Please note - we are not a riding school, and do not provide horses for lessons or instruction. If you wish to go riding and do not have your own horse, we recommend you contact a local riding school. The closest is Regal Riding School at Shoalhaven Heads.
