From the CEO

As we are now halfway through 2023, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the achievements and milestones we have accomplished together so far this year. First and foremost, I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to our equestrian community for their support as we develop strategic initiatives to deliver sustainable growth for the sport.

Eventers Qualify for Paris

The Australian Eventing Team has qualified for the Paris Olympics 2024! After a fantastic competition in Millstreet, Ireland, Australia claimed the top spot on the team podium and Shenae Lowings the top individual honours. A fantastic result for the team and for Australia.

National Health, Safety & Welfare Conference

You are invited to join us for the National Health, Safety and Welfare Online Conference 2023. Listen and learn from world renowned guest speakers leading the way in future proofing Equestrian Sport. The conference will run over three evening sessions on 10, 12 and 17 July.

FORM 8

Equestrian Australia’s Incident Report Form (Form 08) is mandatory to report all incidents, that occur at an EA affiliated equestrian activity and must be completed within 24hrs by the Medical Service Provider (MSP) in attendance.

Australia Tops Medal Tally at Virtus Games

The Australian Team was the most successful team in Equestrian at the 6th Virtus Global Games held in Vichy, France in June. They performed outstandingly to win not only the Team Gold, but also two gold and one silver medal in individual events.

Coach of the Month
GILLIAN BOTTEN

Gillian is a Level 1 General Coach and SSTA and has been selected as the EA Coach of the Month for June. Gillian is also currently Chair of National Dressage and a member of the WA State Coaching Committee and is currently an A Level Dressage Judge and Judge Educator. 

New National Dressage Rulebook

The updated National Dressage Rules are now presented in a fantastic new National Dressage Rulebook which is up on the EA website and can be downloaded below.

MANDATORY WORKING WITH CHILDREN CHECK 

As part of our commitment to safeguarding children and young people in the sport of Equestrian, and in line with the EA Child Safeguarding Policy, we have implemented mandatory Working with Children Check’s (WWCC) for all EA Officials.

Show Horse Rule Updates effective 1 July 2023

Amendments to the EA National Show Horse Rules have been made and are effective from 1 July 2023. A clean and mark-up copy of the rules along with a summary of changes is now available on the Equestrian Australia website.

Special Olympics World Games in Berlin

All four Aussie riders who travelled to the Special Olympics World Games in Berlin are coming home with medals. The riders are some of the youngest on Team Australia and none of them have been to a World Games before.

2024 Event Calendar Applications

Important notice to all Organising Committees – if you would like to hold an FEI event in 2024 you must apply by 5:00pm Tuesday 1st August 2023.
