The ENSW Board met recently to review and update the Leg Up plan for the next three years. The plan summarized on a page is as follows:

Members

In October and November we have two great opportunities for our members to enjoy:

21st October –Members Day at SIEC

Come and enjoy the beautiful grounds at SIEC and participate in a trail ride on the Cross Country course, ride in the indoor, a dressage protocol session, a show horse lesson or just practice your moves on the open arenas. Our first members day in July received wonderful feedback. Entries and more details are on Nominate.

10th November –Masterclass with Chris Bartle at SIEC

Chris Bartle is a world-renowned coach in both Eventing and Dressage. Come and see him coach both cross-country jumps and dressage in the SIEC indoor arena on Friday evening. Tickets are $45 for EA senior members, $22 for EA Junior members and $95 for all non-members. Under 12’s are free. You can choose your seats when you purchase your tickets –so get in quick for the best seats!

Education

11th November –Coaches, Judges and Officials clinic with

Chris Bartle.

10th October – a forum was run for Club Committee Members to introduce new resources that are available to assist clubs as well as discuss upcoming rule changes for clubs. A link for the recording of the session has been emailed to all clubs.

Governance

Planning is under way for the ENSW AGM. More information will be emailed to members on the date and time shortly.

Excellence

In the last quarter NSW will host 3 National Championships:

The Silver Jubilee Vaulting Championships were successfully held last weekend at SIEC

The Australian Jumping Championships will be held from 31 October – 5 November, at SIEC. Entry is free.

EA Australasian Show Horse and Rider Championships will be held from the 30 November – 2 December at SIEC.

Spectator entry is free – so come and cheer athletes representing NSW.

There were several major events run in September by the NSW discipline committees:

· Show Horse NSW hosted the very successful Horse of the Year.

· Dressage NSW successfully ran the NSW Dressage Championships.

· Jumping NSW ran State Championships.

All of these events rely on the work of volunteer committees and volunteers to help run them – it is a truly impressive that these events are so professionally run by these dedicated individuals.
